"The Healer's" Dinner Party

I love dinner parties, whether I'm hosting or someone else's.  It's about bringing friends together that have a common interest.  Children, travel, career, food or just plain fun.  Gathering around a table, enjoying a yummy meal,  lingering over multiple courses, numerous bottles of wine and engaging in enchanting conversation makes the evening complete.
Our dinner last night was at Bill and Nancy's house.  Bill, who loves to cook, has these breathtaking copper pots that I love.  Because of him, I now own one myself.  Maybe one day I'll purchase another, as these pots aren't cheap.
Bill greeted us at the door with a drink.  We said our hello's and where ushered into where the others had gathered.  The conversation was lively and the evening was just beginning.  As we nibbled on tasty appetizers we got caught up on everyone latest happenings.   We began our dinner with a bowl of chilled, refreshing gazpacho.  This tomato base cold soup with numerous raw vegetables, is like eating a liquid salad.  With the bowls empty, the main course, Bill's Shrimp Tuscany was served.  Bill and Nancy had something similar while in the Caribbean which he recreated nicely.  Used to sop up every bit of juice from this tasty creation was a Sesame Semolina loaf from Panera.  Moving outdoors, our host took us on a tour of his yard showing us the climbing hydrangea's, which I had never seen.  Nancy meanwhile was indoors assembling the Poached Pear, with balsamic glaze, toasted pecans and blue cheese dessert. Our evening coming to an end, Bill and John lit up Stogies under the clear starry night.  The temps have cooled, and its time to head home.  An evening like tonight always make us look forward to our next gathering.
