Ride And A Dinner

Recently discovering that West Bicycles http://westbikes.com host Greenway Bike Rides on Tuesday evening, Stone and I decided to check it out.  Accompanying us where friends Carleen and Daniel.  We departed our house at 5:30 pm., making our way to the shop, where Fares, who has been in business for 29 years come July, was waiting to guide us on our ride for the evening.  Who knew that on our end of the city there are 15 miles of greenways that leads to neighborhoods and business districts.  Fares guided the way, schooling us with  properly made hand signals, and to call out when a car was approaching.  Making our way through tree lined greenways and passing numerous walkers and bikers, we enjoyed the beautiful evening.  We chatted and savored the scenic vistas, peddled up various hills, and walked up a few, me more than anyone.  Stopping at times to catch our breath,  except for Carleen who actually laid down on the side of the trail, loosing her will to live only once, finally peddled up a big hill, you go girl.  Fares taught Carleen about the numerous different gears on her bicycle and what they would do, while teaching me how to train to ride up the hills, how to sit on the seat and where to place your feet during an incline.  Our ride with Fares came to an end and after thanking him for a fabulous evening. We said our goodbyes and made our way over to the Azul Tequila Mexican Grill where we began our recovery with margaritas and beer, followed by dinner.   Time to head home,  Stone and I started peddling, arriving at our house at 10 pm., completing 18 miles.   What a tremendous evening.

Carleen lost her will to live after peddling up a hugh hill.
