Stone and I spent the night in Romania's mysterious Transylvania region, Brasov, which has been strongly associated with vampires, werewolf's, haunted forests and dramatic mountains. It was an unexpected awesomeness. Transylvania is known for some of Europe's best preserved medieval towns, most notable Brasov. Upon arrival we wandered around the heart of this quant village with numerous cobble stone paths leading to abundant restaurants, bars and cafes bordering Counselors Square. As musicians played outdoors, local families gathered while the children played. We took in the numerous sites, including The Old City Hall and The Black Church initially known as St. Mary's. This Gothic Church was partly damaged by fire in 1689 and from this it received its present name, The Black Church.
For dinner we ate at the Bella Muzica Restaurant. With it's romantic environment, we were placed in the basement/cellar, with vaulted brick barrel ceilings, candles, ambient light and an excellent menu. My dinner, the traditional Romanian Bean Soup was exquisite. I loved everything about this restaurant, the characteristic, the ambiance, and the cuisine.
